I forget sometimes that there are still art shows going on as I haven't seen one in a long time.
My photo encaustic pieces were carried over for another month at Gallery With a Cause at the New Mexico Cancer Care center. I'm pleased to have work there for cancer patients to ponder.
I hope it helps.
You can still vote for your favorite artist, maybe me, maybe my friend Katherine Irish (below) whose incredible pastel skyscapes always lift my heart.
Two of the photo encaustic pieces I have in the show are featured in a show at the Sohn Gallery in Lenox, MA in a show called "iMotif" for iphoneography. The submissions of 40 artists were all printed at 8 x 8" and framed by the gallery. See the show at https://www.sohnfineart.com/exhibitions .
Here's what they say, "“iMotif” features iPhone photography by over 40 artists. The exhibition was juried by iPhone photographer extraordinaire, John Clarke, award-winning photographer, Valda Bailey and the gallery’s owner Cassandra Sohn. With a camera at our fingertips at all times, and the ever-present world of social media, the way images permeate our lives is revolutionizing photography. The work depicts events from this past year and current times. The images tap into our fears, joys and social issues as well as our desire to escape from the world around us. Visually, the exhibition was curated to read like an Instagram feed, commenting on the way we’re assimilating information through imagery on a daily basis."
The price, set by the gallery, is $375 each. "Blustery Day" and "Dolly in the Woods" were selected for this show and are also available as 8 x 8" photo encaustic on panel from the Gallery with a Cause for $225. A purchase will benefit the Cancer Care Foundation for family members of cancer patients.

Hope you are all well and soon to be vaccinated if you're not there already.
